Hi, I'm Jeff.
I’m a multidisciplinary UX/UI designer based in the California Bay Area.
For over 15 years, I've worked with talented people at companies like Mill, Lyft, Nest, and Google to ship innovative, award-winning products. I specialize in designing user-centered experiences that blend digital and physical interactions, ensuring every touchpoint is intuitive and engaging. I use a combination of UX/UI and motion design to help create thoughtful products that people love to use.
What I do
I help teams design products that feel natural and intuitive to use. Whether it’s a software interface or a physical device, my focus is on making sure every part of the user's experience is well-considered and crafted in a way that adds value to the product.
From the very beginning of the development process, I work to gain a deep understanding of the product, the problems it solves, and its users in order to start defining how interactions and interfaces should work. Once the basics are figured out, I collaborate closely with the product team, engineers, and other designers to realize and implement the complete end-to-end experience for all users of the product. This involves multiple iterations of testing, refinement, and validation in order to get just right, depending on the product's complexity.
In short, my job is to design how people and products interact. My aim is always to ensure that product experiences support users in empathetic, intuitive ways, elevate the brand, and align with business goals.
How I work
I’m fundamentally a visual designer. I incorporate graphic, motion, instructional, and 3D design into my work, choosing the right tools based on the task at hand.
I believe in the power of visual prototyping, using everything from quick sketches to 3D renders and VR simulations to gain the right insights at different stages of the design process. I like to see and test things before they're built, sometimes as realistically as possible.
I love working with teams who are passionate about solving tough challenges. I enjoy digging into complex problems, especially when it comes to making sophisticated systems feel simple and enjoyable for people to use.
I often support and collaborate closely with industrial designers, as much of my work relates to how people physically interact with and use a product.
Other stuff
I live in San Rafael with my wife and our two wonderful boys. My free time is spent being a dad, exploring Point Reyes, taking photos, and playing music.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect. I look forward to hearing from you.
